God Transforms His Bride

God Transforms His Bride

Imagine a baby girl, who is born to a diseased, drug-addicted mother and an insane homeless man.

This pitiful young girl from the slums, not particularly smart, has no chance in h*** of ever escaping her family’s curse.

Her life is destined to be a difficult obstacle course of suffering from very little hope at all.

Now imagine if you will, an extraordinarily beautiful, poised woman seated in a palace at a pure gold piano encrusted with jewels.

She has on the most beautiful gown in the Kingdom and her perfection is unequaled in every way.

The king and the royal court await her performance, and as she plays the music of heaven.

All are moved to tears, even the mighty angels.

The king weeps…

…because is touched by the depth of her talent, but most importantly, the depth of her character. Her external appearance reflects her beautiful heart.

The king is deeply in love with her and intends to marry her, pledging his covenant, abiding love forever.

How did the baby girl, a poor wretch of a human being, born into sin, death, and destruction, become a bride, acceptable and perfect for a king?

And how do we, born into the slums of a broken, sinful world, become the most glorious, perfect bride for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords?

This story is being played out right before our very eyes.

Two Measures Foolish: Foolish to God for we sin – Foolish to the world for the cross.

God’s Highest Standard

God’s Highest Standard

God’s Highest Standard

Disclaimer; these are my thoughts and not to be taken as Biblical doctrines. Although there is truth contained in the musings it is meant to unveil perspective.

Sin is any, action, thought, heart attitude that hurts oneness or unity or love or harmony in a valid, legal, blessed of God relationship between two people or an individual and God Himself.

God designed us to be one in unity and love just like he designed Adam-and-Eve’s relationship, and even greater, a reflection of the relationship between the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. The perfect love, perfect relationship for all of eternity, only interrupted when Christ became sin on our behalf.

I was thinking about various people and their lives – and mine – how far off of the mark are we from Christian perfection? If God, who knows all, understands all and is the only standard of judgment the truth is going to prevail, good and bad.

Without a standard you can’t have a law or rule…

…otherwise it would just be arbitrary. For example, thru shalt not kill is based on the standard of God’s nature to create, honor, and value life.

God gives life and this creates the highest standard which then actions can be judged wrong. We can make more choices that kill physically, emotionally, spiritually and eternally. These choices eventually lead to life or death. Sin always leads to death of some sort. It may look like life, but it is short lived and only for a season. You reap dead, unreal fruit and eventually starve to death.

Every person will be judged by God’s highest standard, His glory (His nature and perfection). Christian’s will be judged or have been judged through Jesus Christ, as only Christ met that perfect standard of “the glory of God”.

God's Highest Standard

God’s Highest Standard

But even for Christians, and to get to my point, even we will finally have the complete truth revealed to us, the truth from God’s perspective. Everything that was wrong or off or substandard will be set right (spot, wrinkle, blemish).

It is a given that every sin, every deception, every hidden motivation, every disobedience to His written word and also of the voice of the Holy Spirit will be exposed to the light and truth of God. We will see ourselves as God saw us, the good, the bad and the ugly.

We will need to see and understand every area we were off base on, too focused on, away from God’s perspective, wrong thoughts, lies believed. Areas of unbelief, false doctrines, idols, all areas of pride and the condition of the heart, the areas that we lacked knowledge, truth and understanding, areas where we lacked His Love, and the list could go on and on.

God will be the judge…

…or disclosure of the whole truth, and we all will be surprised. Perhaps we were doing far better in practicing forgiveness, mercy, compassion, concern, or using the gift of prayer, or comforting the hurting, or standing up for truth or suffering persecution because of our relationship with Christ.

Some of us listen to the still small voice of the Holy Spirit and obey and some of us back off from the demanding our rights or yielding in humble submission instead of cold-hearted rebellion, clinging to Jesus instead of self-medicating with the flesh or the world.

Ultimately God’s judgment is all encompassing, and the final ruling will have to do with your relationship with Jesus Christ. Did you believe, trust, receive Jesus Christ into your heart and soul, your mind and you’re being?

Intelligent Design and Irreducible Complexity

Intelligent Design and Irreducible Complexity

Intelligent Design and Irreducible Complexity

“If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down.” — Charles Darwin, Origin of Species

Irreducible complexity is an argument, by some scientists who believe in intelligent design (creation/God designed), that certain life systems are too complex to have evolved from simpler organisms, through natural selection or evolution.

Bacterial Flagellum

Modern biology has discovered that cells are like tiny factories that function using machines. So, irreducible complexity means that inside all living things are very small machines that perform complicated and extremely detailed tasks. Bacterial Flagellum are tiny machines that are living and breathing.

Intelligent Design and Irreducible Complexity

The bacterial flagellum is a cellular outboard motor that bears the marks of intelligent design.

Long before today’s modern technology, students of biology compared the workings of life to machines and recently, this comparison has become stronger than ever.

Why is all of this important?

Because origins (beginnings) do matter! How we look at how the world and how it functions matters just as much. The universe is very complex, in not only size but how it functions. The universe of the small cell is also very complex – complex beyond all understanding, even for our scientists today.

Darwin’s Black Box

In his 1996 book, “Darwin’s Black Box: The Biochemical Challenge to Evolution”, biochemist Michael Behe explained the surprising discovery that life is based upon machines!

Life is based on machines – machines made of molecules! Molecular machines haul cargo from one place in the cell to another along highways made of other molecules, while still others act as cables, ropes, and pulleys to hold the cell in shape. Machines turn cellular switches on and off, sometimes killing the cell or causing it to grow.

Solar-powered machines capture the energy of photons and store it in chemicals. Electrical machines allow current to flow through nerves. Manufacturing machines build other molecular machines, as well as themselves. Cells swim using machines, copy themselves with machinery, and ingest food with machinery. In short, highly sophisticated molecular machines control every cellular process. Thus, the details of life are finely calibrated and the machinery of life enormously complex,”

Amazing! All of this is going on inside of my body? In the body of every living thing? Wow!

Behe then posed the question,

“Can all of life be fit into Darwin’s theory of evolution?” and answered, “The complexity of life’s foundation has paralyzed science’s attempt to account for it; molecular machines raise an as-yet impenetrable barrier to Darwinism’s universal reach.”

Again, I ask, why is all of this important?

Psalm 19:1 says “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” We, as humans, do not need a telescope to see the glory of God. All we have to do is look at the nighttime sky and gaze out at the stars and marvel. A telescope does help to see how absolutely huge and complex it is.

In the same way, the inner workings of life on a very small scale, with the use of microscopes, has also unlocked this vision of complexity. You could say, “The living creatures declare the glory of God; the molecular machines proclaim the work of his hands.”

Fine-tuned for Life…

…is another term that is used by believers of intelligent design, including many scientists today. It means that a fine-tuned universe, to have life, has to have conditions that can only occur when found or lie within a very narrow range, so that if any of these conditions were only slightly different, the universe would be unlikely to have life.

This fine-tuning is found not only on the very largest element, like the universe itself, but also found in the very smallest cellular level of all life. When they talk about a very narrow range that life can be sustained or even form, it is very narrow indeed. One example would be planet earth, where we call home.

As you begin to take in all the different parts of the complex puzzle that make up life you have to ask yourself a question. Can an unguided theory like evolution and natural selection account for life on any level?

To this day scientist have no idea how life got its initial start.

They CAN NOT reproduce any kind of life in a laboratory from non-life. They have not figured out the mechanism for triggering life from non-life. Whole life forms turning into completely different life forms as in Macro-evolution is also not been proven.

They can test small adaptations as in Micro-evolution and watch small changes occur within animal and plant life. That is one species adapting to its environment but not one species turning into a new species.

Many scientist across the world are coming to this same conclusion about Darwinian Evolution and are now making their voices heard. Dissent from Darwinism are over 1,000 scientist with objections.

Fine-tuned is also found in the universe on a much more massive scale but that is for a future article on The Big Bang and Intelligent Design.

Today I was just staying in our own backyard.

Best of All Possible Worlds?

Best of All Possible Worlds?

Best of All Possible Worlds?

This is one of those questions that you have to unpack and think about before answering. You may have to ask further questions to get a better handle on what is being asked.

Most people’s initial response is a resounding NO.

Or…

…O my God no, as if we are trying to convince God Himself with this half question half answer. How can life on this planet be the best of all worlds?

Sometimes this question can catch people dead in their tracks. Something seems off about it. Of course, this not the best of all worlds. What are you thinking? God could have done much better…

…Right??

The question was first asked by German Philosopher Gottfried Leibniz in 1710 in an essay on the origin of evil or solving the problem of evil. He was trying to account for suffering and injustice that exists in the world.

Leibniz used Christianity to back up the validity of his essay. He said: “Once we understood evil and good, it gives us the ability to produce the “greatest possible good” out of all the goodness. Evil fuels goodness, which leads to a perfect system.”

That may be true in part but unless God adds another ingredient into the mix, good and evil are not possible.

Best of All Possible Worlds?

Free Will

Merriam Webster Dictionary defines Free Will:

1.) Voluntary choice or decision.

2.) Freedom of humans to make choices that are not determined by prior causes or by divine intervention.

So, if you add Free Will into the conversation everything changes.

Two words.

Best of All Possible Worlds if There is Free Will?

God could have created a world without Free Will but then humans would have been like robots only doing what was required of them and never making decisions for themselves. Never freely interacting with the creator or each other.

What kind of life would that be?

Would that life be worth sharing anything with? Would that life be worth living? Would you be even aware of anything?

Let’s say you designed and built a beautiful fancy car and then decided to travel all over the country visiting landmarks. Sure, you drove this car to all these locations but were you really sharing this trip with it or was it just along for the ride (pun intended).

Did it tell you how much it enjoyed that beautiful sunset at the Grand Canyon? Or did you still feel alone and wishing another human just like yourself was there to share this site with.

Best of All Possible Worlds?

At the Core of Free Will is Chaos

Disorder, disarray, confusion, mayhem, bedlam, madness, havoc, turmoil, upheaval, anarchy and lawlessness are just a few words that describe chaos.

Has history not shown that all those words describe the human condition?

When God the Father was discussing making humans with the Holy Spirit and the Son they must have thought it was worth the pain and suffering for the billions of humans that would have to live on this boot camp of life on planet earth but also what it was going to cost the three of them.

The Son in the form of Jesus would have to be born, walk this life like all humans but then be tortured and murdered so that sin could be wrung out of Free Will.

God the Father and the Holy Spirit had to turn their back on Jesus for a time as He incurred this pain. Maybe the first time ever. Of course, they knew they were going to have to endure the crucifixion from the foundations of this world. The pain all three must have experienced must have been beyond description.

God wants to share His kingdom and all His blessings with ALL of mankind for eternity but He is also a righteous and just God. He can not allow man and his sinful, rebellious nature into heaven. If He did heaven would turn into Hell in a heartbeat without God creating such a place.

All these angry souls…

…that have denied the work of Christ. Individuals that are selfish and have lived lives without a thought of another humans welfare through their life times. People only living for earthly profit and temporary gain. All these souls suddenly showing up in a location not of their choosing through their life times of breathing air.

It would be considered spiritual rape. Forcing them to be somewhere they do not want to be. They would be angry beyond all description. They would rebell in the worst way wanting to hurt other souls and God Himself for eternity. This is NOT the heaven I want any part of. Not the heaven I have laid up treasure for.

Now when you ask the question with Free Will part of the equation “This the Best Possible of All Worlds?”, what will your answer be?

With that last piece of information I think most people would have to say IT IS the best possible of all Worlds.

How could God have designed it any other way?
